Unlocked by default, the MP5K isn't an extremely popular gun to use in Modern Warfare 2. However, it's power is completely misjudged. With its very fast fire rate and high damage at close range, this weapon is a beast up close. Combine the gun with the correct perks and combat style and you'll be able to fight with this weapon like a pro!
Run-and-Gun: Since you won't be able to assault the same way you'd normally be able to with assault rifles, you are mostly left with running and gunning. The MP5K is best used with the RDS (red dot sight), Holographic Sight, or a silencer. In addition to silencing, the silencer also reduces your recoil a bit. Since the weapon has a crazy fire rate and medium recoil, Scavenger and Steady Aim are an absolute must. You'll need Scavenger to replenish your ammo every time you take down one of your enemies and you'll need Steady Aim to reduce the hip-fire recoil. As for your second perk, you can choose between Stopping Power, Lightweight, or Hardline. Stopping Power can be used to use less ammo for taking down your enemies as your bullets will be more powerful. Lightweight can be used just to move around faster. Hardline can be used to get your killstreaks faster as you'll need them earlier because you'll be running and gunning, which means you'll probably die often and quickly.
Recommended MP5K Run-and-Gun Class:
Weapon: MP5K with RDS or Holographic Sight or Silencer
Secondary Weapon: G18 with Akimbo
Perk one: Scavenger
Perk two: Stopping Power or Lightweight or Hardline
Perk three: Steady Aim
Equipment: Frag Grenade
Special Grenade: Stun Grenades
Ghost: Due to the low range and medium recoil, ghosting with the MP5K isn't really recommended. However, if used right and combined with the right perks then the MP5K can be a very good for ghosting. Use the MP5K with a Silencer. You won't need to Bling the Silencer with a RDS or a Holographic Sight because the MP5K's iron sights aren't too bad. Next, you'll need Scavenger to replenish ammo or Sleight of Hand to make up for the slow reload times (scavenger is recommended). Then, you'll need to use the typical ghosting perks, Cold-Blooded and Ninja.
Recommended MP5K Ghost Class:
Weapon: MP5K with Silencer
Secondary Weapon: G18 with a Silencer
Perk one: Scavenger
Perk two: Cold-blooded
Perk three: Ninja
Equipment: Throwing Knife
Special Grenade: Stun Grenades
Knife: Because of the MP5K's light weight, running around at higher speeds can be used to your advantage. A great way to use it is for a completely knifing class. Using a knife class also means using a little bit of stealth. Therefore, you'll need to equip your MP5K with a silencer. Next, equip a USP .45 with Akimbo or a Tactical Knife for your secondary weapon. Both will speed up your knifing and the USP .45 itself has a decent clip size of 15. Then, you'll need to use Marathon and Lightweight as your first two perks. Your last perk can be either Ninja or Commando. When using this knife class, sprint with your USP's out and shoot them if they're out of your knifing range. If they're close enough, knife them to save ammo. If they're too far out of range, then throw your throwing knife or shoot them with your MP5K.
Recommended MP5K Knife Class:
Weapon: MP5K with Silencer
Secondary Weapon: USP .45 with Akimbo or a Tactical Knife
Perk one: Marathon
Perk two: Lightweight
Perk three: Ninja or Commando
Equipment: Throwing Knife
Special Grenade: Stun Grenades
